Manuel F. M. Costa

Manuel F. M. Costa (SPIE Senior Member, EOS Fellow) is a Professor at the Physics Department, University of Minho, Portugal. His research interests focus on optical metrology, applied optics, thin films, nanoscience, optometry as well as science education. He has published nearly 300 academic papers and monographs, acting as editor or editorial board member of many international journals. He chairs nineteen international conferences and reviews manuscripts for over 30 journals. He also takes charge of university optical labs and delivers academic lectures worldwide with rich research and educational experience.

Yan Zhang

Prof. Yan Zhang is a full professor and doctoral supervisor at the Department of Physics, Capital Normal University, where he serves as Director of the Key Laboratory of Terahertz Optoelectronics (Ministry of Education) and the Beijing Key Laboratory of Metamaterials and Devices. He is a Fellow of Optica (formerly the Optical Society of America). He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1999, and then carried out postdoctoral research at Yamagata University, Japan, and the University of Stuttgart, Germany, supported by the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation respectively. His primary research interests cover terahertz spectroscopy and imaging, terahertz metasurface devices and optical information processing. He has authored or co-authored over 400 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals including Nature Photonics, Nature Communications and Physical Review Letters, with an H-index of 64 and more than 14,000 citations on Google Scholar. Under his leadership, his research group has received the China Industry-University-Research Innovation Achievement Award and the Invention and Innovation Award of the China Association of Inventions.

Vijay Janyani

Dr. Vijay Janyani is a Full Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur (MNIT Jaipur), India. He earned his Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK, funded by the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan. With nearly 30 years of experience in teaching, research and academic leadership, his research covers photonics, optical communication, optical materials & devices, photonic structures and solar photovoltaics. He maintains broad global research collaborations and has delivered numerous keynote and invited talks worldwide. His projects have received support from ISRO, DRDO, DST, AICTE and the Government of India. He won the Derrick Kirk Prize and AICTE Young Teacher Career Award. He has over 250 publications and book chapters, and supervised 23 PhD students. He serves as Senior Member of IEEE, Optica and SPIE, and Life Fellow of IETE, OSI, IE and ISTE.

Mohammad Syuhaimi Ab-Rahman

Mohammad Syuhaimi Ab-Rahman

Mohammad Syuhaimi Ab-Rahman is a Full Professor at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), specializing in optical communication systems. He joined UKM in 2007 and became a full professor at 33, a rare achievement in Malaysia. He serves as Director of Alumni Relation Center, holds a Malaysian Professional Engineer license, and was named one of Malaysia’s Top Research Scientists 2021. He has supervised 13 PhD and 16 Master students, published 297 journal papers, 196 conference papers and 30 books, obtained 6 patents, and led over 30 research projects totaling 17 million MYR. He frequently delivers keynote speeches at international conferences, acts as a research grant reviewer, and provides technical consultation for national government departments while offering research training for young academics.

Luigi Fortuna

Luigi Fortuna

Luigi Fortuna is Full Professor of System Theory at the University of Catania, Italy, and affiliated consultant of STM Lab+ (STLab), Italy. He earned his laureate Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Catania in 1977, and was promoted to full professor in 1994. He once served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (2005–2012), Head of the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Systems Engineering, and PhD program coordinator. He is IEEE Life Fellow, IEICE Fellow and AIAA Fellow. His research covers robust control, nonlinear dynamical systems, chaos theory, cellular neural networks, soft computing, bio-inspired robotics and nonlinear electronic circuits. He has coordinated numerous EU and national research projects, cooperating with JET, ENEA, STMicroelectronics and Italian Space Agency. He has published over 760 Scopus-indexed papers, authored 24 international monographs, holds 11 industrial patents, and supervised more than 60 PhD students. He has undertaken key editorial duties for IEEE journals and chaired multiple top international conferences such as CNNA2000 and NDES2000.

C. H. Raymond Ooi

Prof. C. H. Raymond Ooi is a full professor at the Department of Physics, University of Malaya, the first Malaysian scholar elected as an OPTICA Fellow, and a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and the Academy of Engineering and Technology of the Developing World. He earned his Dr. rer. nat. in quantum optics from the University of Konstanz, Germany, completed postdoctoral research at Texas A&M University, and served as a visiting scientist at Princeton University and the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics. His research focuses on quantum optics, nonlinear optics, plasmonics and intense laser-matter interactions, and he established the pioneering Heisenberg-Langevin theoretical framework for nonclassical photon correlations in quantum plasmonic systems. He was invited as a nominator for the Nobel Prize in Physics by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, received the Malaysia Toray Science Foundation Science & Technology Award, leads national key quantum communication projects, founded the Quantum and Laser Science Research Centre at University of Malaya, holds green energy patents, and has delivered numerous invited keynote lectures at international conferences while serving on the editorial boards of international journals.

Lei Yang is a Professor and doctoral supervisor at Zhengzhou University, an IEEE Senior Member and CSIG Senior Member. His research focuses on robot visual perception, intelligent detection and multimodal learning. He has presided over the General and Youth Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. As the first or corresponding author, he has published over 60 highlevel SCI papers in journals including IEEE TITS, IEEE TIE, IEEE TMRB and IEEE TIM, with an hindex of 38 and two ESI highlycited papers. He was listed in Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists for both 2024 and 2025.

Liang Yang, Professor, Ph.D. Supervisor, was born in 1977. He received his Ph.D. degree from Sun Yat-sen University in 2006. He has conducted postdoctoral research at City University of Hong Kong and Texas A&M University at Qatar. His research focuses on wireless communications and artificial intelligence empowered wireless systems. He has published more than 170 papers in IEEE journals. He has been listed in Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists for six consecutive years and recognized as an Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researcher in 2023, 2024 and 2025. He serves on the editorial boards of many prestigious international journals, including IEEE TCOM, IEEE TCCN, IEEE TVT, IEEE IoT-J, IEEE WCL, IEEE COMML, Science China Information Sciences and Journal on Communications.

Saeed Olyaee

Saeed Olyaee

Saeed Olyaee is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University and founder & head of the Nanophotonics and Optoelectronics Research Laboratory (NORLab), founded in 2006. He earned his B.Sc. from the University of Mazandaran in 1997, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in optoelectronics from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in 1999 and 2007 respectively. He has published over 350 scientific outputs comprising journal papers, conference articles and book chapters, and participated in around 50 university and nationallevel research projects. He has held key administrative roles including VicePresident for Research and Technology and Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering. An IEEE Senior Member, he serves on editorial boards and conference scientific committees. He has been listed in Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists from 2019 to 2025. His research interests cover laser nanometrology, optical instruments, photonic crystal fiber sensors, terahertz devices and solar cells.
